“Expressions”
Exhibitions of works by Angelika Kiely
Angelika Kiely is a native German living in Ireland since 1990. She studied Art and Design in her home city of Munich, followed by an apprenticeship to gain qualification as a Display Artist. After moving to Ireland she became involved in teaching German and Art and Craft to mature students. Since early childhood she had had a passion for painting and drawing. This was influenced by the great collection of impressionists and expressionists housed in the Art Galleries of Munich.
Having assisted her Adult students to exhibit their works in the gallery at St Michaels Theatre over the past number of years, this is her first exhibition in her own right. The current exhibition displays a number of influences from the great masters, and reflects her love of bold colours and texture.

Exhibition of works by Angela Reddy
‘I want to give all these name, all the shades and variants of my fleeting mind.’
I am multidisciplinary and I hope that this diversity shows in my work. I am attracted to the fluidity of watercolour with its ambiguity and uncertainty. Working with this medium involves abdicating a certain degree of control, allowing the painting to evolve somewhat independently of the artist.
Whilst living in London I studied drama and worked in theatre. I write poetry and have had a number of poems published, I also hold a diploma in women’s studies. A number of years ago I completed a one year course in art and design in WIT and since my return from London I have begun painting again. I have attended a number of art workshops in New Ross, primarily with Angelika Kiely and Kathleen Allen. For the past numbers of years I have been displaying my work at the J.F.K Dunbrody festival. Drawing heavily on my work in theatre I have attempted to turn paint into performance. Poetry allows me to transform the brushstroke from paint to language with the fluidity of watercolour allowing infinite possibilities.
At present I study interior design and attempt to apply the principles of art to the canvas of a domestic interior
